Born, raised, living and working in Jakarta, Mohammad Taufiq or commonly called Emte has been actively drawing since childhood, and because of that he has created many comics, cartoon strips, various magazine illustrations, book covers, murals, t-shirt designs, and various other commercial projects. His background as a freelance illustrator has made Emte accustomed to the practice of working with various mediums and diverse drawing styles. Emte displays in his works many of the domestic themes and trivial things that are sometimes overlooked in everyday life, most of which are made using watercolors and liquid acrylics as unpredictable and interesting media to explore.
